The Oregon Queen — All the News through May 2025
June 21, 2025 Off By Lois Forester2025 Miss Rodeo Oregon Mary Olney!
Howdy friends!
May was an absolute whirlwind—in the best way possible! It was packed full of amazing rodeos, familiar faces, new friendships, and unforgettable memories across the Northwest and beyond. Here’s a peek at what my boots have been up to this month:
Guymon Pioneer Days Rodeo – Guymon, Oklahoma
I kicked off May in the best way—at the legendary Guymon Pioneer Days Rodeo in Oklahoma! From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed by some of the kindest people and treated to an outstanding rodeo experience. The energy, the rodeo fans, and the caliber of competition made it a week to remember. It was so much fun representing Oregon on the road!
Sisters Rodeo Work Party – Sisters, Oregon
Next, I headed back home to the beautiful town of Sisters for one of my favorite traditions—a good old-fashioned rodeo work party! It was wonderful to reconnect with so many familiar faces and pitch in to help tag new merchandise for the upcoming Sisters Rodeo. I also got to spend some quality time with Sisters Rodeo Queen Jenna and her sweet family. It was a great day of teamwork, laughter, and rodeo family love.
Flower Pack Fun – Madras, Oregon
One of the highlights of the month was reuniting with some dear friends in Madras who helped me create the most beautiful flower pack for the rodeo season! We caught up on life while crafting something truly special, and I’m so grateful for the time and creativity they poured into it.
Wild Rogue Pro Rodeo – Eagle Point, Oregon
Then it was off to southern Oregon for the Wild Rogue Pro Rodeo in Eagle Point. I had an incredible time alongside their 2025 court Paige and Mikayla, and many other amazing ladies during sponsor visits, the Queen’s Luncheon, and—of course—a thrilling rodeo! The weekend was led by none other than 2024 Miss Rodeo Oregon Abby, who now serves as the Wild Rogue Pro Rodeo Advisor. It was so fun to be part of a weekend she helped bring to life. I even got to see our very own Katie!
Spray Rodeo – Spray, Oregon
I wrapped up the month at one of the most iconic small-town rodeos—the one and only Spray Rodeo! It was a true blast getting to spend time with Spray Rodeo Queen Madison and an amazing group of visiting royalty. I was also incredibly blessed to spend the weekend with the Crooked River Roundup crew, and a huge thank-you goes out to Queen Corley for letting me ride her amazing horse Rueger for the weekend.
From Oklahoma to Oregon, every mile this month was filled with smiles, stories, and the spirit of rodeo. I’m so thankful for all the people who make this journey so meaningful and joyful.
June is just around the corner, and I can’t wait to see what adventures await!
Forever grateful for the ride,
Mary M. Olney
Miss Rodeo Oregon 2025
2025 Miss Teen Rodeo Oregon Katie Kilcullen!
This month was full of new beginnings and bittersweet endings.
I kicked it off with competing at my state OHSET meet in Redmond, Oregon. It was so fun and made for great memories; however, it was the closing of my OHSET legacy. OHSET has been so good to be over the last three years, it is bittersweet to be done with it.
I had the privilege of speaking at the Springfield Rotary luncheon about what the job of a rodeo queen is and the process behind becoming one! They were all so kind, and I got great feedback about my presentation.
Next, I traveled down to Medford, Oregon for the Wild Rouge Pro Rodeo. I got to do a run in, push cows, help with the boot race, and carry sponsor flags. This rodeo means a lot to me since it was the FIRST rodeo I had attended under a rodeo queen crown--last year as the Philomath Frolic & Rodeo Queen. Fun fact, did you know the Wild Rouge Pro Rodeo is the home to the one and only 100-point bull ride? While in Medford I also had the pleasure of attending a Rascal Rodeo. It was my first one and to say I was ecstatic to attend would be an understatement.
The same weekend I traveled to Benton County, Oregon for the all girls rodeo. It was a blast to attend!
Finally, I closed a chapter of which consisted of the last 12 years…I graduated high school!!! While I am sad to leave my beloved small town school, I am so excited to begin my next chapter at Oregon State University!
With Love,
