The Oregon Queen — All the News through August 2024!
September 8, 2024 Off By Lois ForesterMiss Rodeo Oregon 2024 Abby Torgerson!
The month of August brought the long awaited 2025 Miss Rodeo Oregon Pageant! The pageant was four days long and included two interviews, a written test, horsemanship, mock media interviews, a speech, modeling, and even a dance. I participated in all of the events to help prepare me for the Miss Rodeo America pageant. The pageant is held in conjunction with the Clackamas County Fair and Canby Rodeo, so each evening I headed to the performance to help run sponsor flags! A big congratulations to the 2025 titleholders. I cannot wait to see what all three of you accomplish in 2025!
I started my Labor Day weekend and ended the month of August in Walla Walla for the Walla Walla Frontier Days Pro Rodeo. I had a blast meeting up with Miss Rodeo Washington, Miss Rodeo Nebraska, and Miss Rodeo America for the weekend! I even got to see Walla Walla board member, Shane Laib, who was one of my judges at Oregon!
My application for my dream job is officially submitted! I will be headed to Las Vegas in December for the Miss Rodeo America pageant. Stay tuned to see my official headshot!
Gratefully,
Abby Torgerson
2024 Miss Rodeo Oregon
Miss Teen Rodeo Oregon 2024 Hallie Haslebacher!
With the last month of my summer run coming to an end I spent my August at the Miss Teen Rodeo Oregon Pageant and the Canby Rodeo!
Competing for the title of 2025 Miss Teen Rodeo Oregon we had four contestants, Jayden Perin, Kaitie Kilcullen, Paytyn Hayda, and Makaila Tolman. All of these girls did amazing in every way. They put everything into the pageant and it showed! During the four-day long pageant the girls had to go through personal interviews, horsemanship interviews, three horsemanship patterns, written test, mock media interviews, speeches and modeling. I am so proud of these girls and everything they put into that week. I am happy to announce your 2025 Miss Teen Rodeo Oregon Katie Kilcullen!
To learn more about Katie, go check out the Miss Teen Rodeo Oregon Facebook and or Instagram page to meet the 2025 Miss Teen Rodeo Oregon.
As some of you may know, the Clackamas County Fair and Canby Rodeo hosts our pageant! I got to attend three nights of the Canby Rodeo where I got to watch some of the best of the best compete! I also got to sign autographs and walk around the fair and check out all of the 4-H kids' hard work!
I'm sad to see the summer run come to an end but don't think I'm done yet, I still have a few more things up my sleeve!
Junior Miss Rodeo Oregon 2024 Kayla Hunt!
My month started off with the Benton County Fair and Rodeo where I had the opportunity to help push cows during the rodeo for the first time. It's a opportunity I was grateful for.
Signed and sealed!
We weren't going to let these three get away until they had signed on the dotted line! It made for a very long day but contracts were signed, handbooks given out, and now our 2025 titleholders are arranging dates and locations for coronations and writing their thank-you notes.
There are dozens of pageant photos on this website under "2025 Miss Rodeo Oregon Pageant" so check them out!
A Glimpse into 2025!
