A 13-year-old St. Helens girl serves as 2024 Junior Miss Rodeo Oregon. Kayla Hunt was crowned on July 22 at the conclusion of the 2-day pageant held in conjunction with the Columbia County Fair & Rodeo in St. Helens, Oregon. Kayla, the daughter of Andrea and Josiah Hunt, attends St. Helens Middle School and has played softball for the last five years.
In addition to winning the state title, Kayla won the categories of Horsemanship, Personality, and Appearance. Her passion for horses started at the young age of 4. Since then, she has ridden a variety of horses, learning new disciplines like reigning and working cows. She has competed in many Game Shows, 4H, and Junior Rodeos where she competed in barrels, poles, and steer daubing.
Kayla is spending 2024 representing Miss Rodeo Oregon Inc. Foundation by making public appearances, riding in parades and rodeos, and promoting rodeo and western industries.
