Kayla Vincent - 2017 Miss Rodeo Oregon

  1. Title 1
Central Oregon is where Kayla Vincent calls home, on her family’s farm and cattle ranch with her parents Ron and Sue Ellen and twin brothers Bryce and Levi. Kayla has been a passionate advocate of the agricultural industry and western way of life through her 4H and FFA involvement. Being involved in rodeos from an early age, she learned the importance of the western lifestyle and cowboy heritage. This led her to competing in everything from horse shows to barrel races because she loves a new challenge with her horses. Kayla competed in 4H county fair for 9 years and in FFA for 4 years, competing in almost every contest offered and showing every animal she could get her hands on. She found her passion in showing sheep and beef cattle and was proud to win the Supreme Beef Award with her homegrown crossbred white heifer named Charlotte who can be found “hanging out with the horses before the other cows” in the pasture. She has been riding horses forever, winning her first trophy at 11 months old, and has been horse crazy ever since.

Kayla is a 2016 graduate of Western Oregon University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Biology. She was on the college dance team for five years and she also was very active in different organizations ranging from Resident Assistant positions to being a tutor for the math program. She plans to go back and get her Masters degree after her year as Miss Rodeo Oregon and “get a big kid job”.

Kayla would like to extend a huge thank you to her employer for the past three years, Dutch Bros, a company that is very customer-service based and quick paced. Kayla also enjoys meeting people from all over the US that come to visit her coffee shop and she has even met some people who have seen her at rodeos.

She is incredibly excited and blessed to be given the opportunity to be the 2017 Miss Rodeo Oregon and plans to be a positive role model to everyone and inspire them to follow their dreams. Kayla has found her passion in inspiring youth to be proud of who they are and pursue their passions! This year has been even more amazing because she gets to share it with her 9 year old APHA mare Hemi whom she has done the majority of the training on. "Getting to live out this dream with my best friend has been the ride of a lifetime!" She would like to remind everyone to be proud of who you are and to always “Ride for the Brand”
