Putting her horses to pasture in Myrtle Creek, OR, Katie Sheely is the twelve year old daughter of Chris and Susan Sheely and has an older sister named Hannah. A small town girl at heart, Katie has been saddling up ever since she could fit into her cowboy boots. Katie loves participating in 4-H, gaming shows, and performance shows with her nine year old Quarter Horse mare, Daisy Duke, who is competing with her this weekend. She is learning how to rope and is very excited to start competing in rodeos soon. Katie stays busy, as she participates in many activities including; basketball, volleyball, softball, horse 4-H, and raising market lambs, all while maintaining her 4.0 grade point average. A soon to be seventh grader at Coffenberry Middle School, Katie plans on going to college at the Oregon Health and Science University after graduating to become a nurse midwife. When Katie isn’t in school or riding horses, she enjoys camping and fishing with family, hanging out with friends, reading, and helping out around her community.
